It’s that time of year again. The clocks have changed, Halloween has been and gone. Bonfire night is upon us. And it’s time for Festiwool!
Festiwool is a yarn and fibre festival for lovers of textile art, sewing, knitting and crochet, held in Hitchin in Hertfordshire in the UK. Now in its fourth year, it features around 60 independent craftspeople and designers whose wares include yarn, fibre, notions and patterns.
This year, the event is in a new location, at The Priory School, Bedford Road, Hitchin, SG5 2UR. It will be held on Saturday 11th November, from 10am to 5pm. As well as the exhibitors, there will be workshops, book signings, presentations and demos.
For more details, including a list of exhibitors, and to book tickets please visit the Festiwool website.
GardeningWitch Designs will be there again, so I thought I’d give you a quick look at some of the things that I will be bringing along this year.
Project bags:
I have a variety of project bags, including ones like these drawstring bags with outside pockets, handy for all those essential extras like scissors and measuring tapes.
I will also have other styles of fabric project bags with me.
Circular needle protectors:
These circular needle protectors will not only keep the pointy bits of your circular needles safe, but it will also allow you to keep your favourite stitch markers to hand. Just clip them into the attached metal swivel clip and they will never be lost between the sofa cushions again!
Shawl pins:
Keep your knitted or crocheted shawl in place with a wire-work shawl pin. Handmade by me from aluminium wire, they are light and will not pull your shawl out of shape. I have some new designs for Festiwool, which I hope you will like.
Stitch markers and progress markers:
Handy for keeping track of pattern repeats, stitch counts or just for marking the progress of your knitting or crochet. I will be bringing a variety of stitch markers and progress markers to Festiwool.
Cards and labels:
Need a ‘thank you’ card? Or a greetings card with a craft theme? I have been busy making hand-printed cards for the show.
And if you are giving someone a hand-made item, why not attach a label to proclaim the fact that it is handmade? I will have plenty of ones to choose from.
And if I finish them in time, there will be aprons:
These half aprons are ideal for crafting on the go. Roomy pockets will hold your knitting project, your phone, your notions …
I will be modelling mine at Festiwool as they make great Stall Holder aprons too!
I’m excited to catch up with old friends at Festiwool, and hope to make some new ones. If you are going, please do drop by and say hello!
But if you can’t make it in person, you can see what I have currently in stock by visiting my ETSY shop.
