#yarnlovechallenge week 4

YarnLoveChallenge Week 4

Following on from the summaries of Week 1 , Week 2 and Week 3 of #yarnlovechallenge, here is a roundup of the final week’s posts:

Day 22: Currently Wearing. This cardigan is keeping me cosy today. The pattern is Peasy by Heidi Kirrmaier, the yarn is by West Yorkshire Spinners and the buttons are from Textile Garden.

Day 23: Throwback. Who remembers the Golden Hands magazines from the early 70s? My Mum collected them all and passed them on to me. I used to love looking through them, and still do from time to time.

Day 24: Favourite Tip. This was a tip that I picked up from the fabulous Knitting Pipeline podcast, hosted by Paula, for making a fine edge to a piece of knitting. Thanks for the tip, Paula!

Day 25: Routine. Every day, come rain or shine (or Storm Doris) I walk the dog, ⠀
often listening to knitting podcasts or planning my next yarny project.

Day 26: Newest Stash. Amazingly, I haven’t bought yarn since last November! Who would have thought that was possible?! I bought these 2 lovely skeins at Festiwool. I could not resist the gorgeous colour of the Travelknitter Tanami 4ply Camelsilk, and I did not have anything from The Wool Barn, so I just had to see what it was like (it’s lovely!). The buttons from Textile Garden have been used on my Peasy cardigan. With Edinburgh Yarn Festival coming up soon, I think more yarn purchases are on the horizon…⠀

Day 27: Blocking. I need to get myself some more blocking mats … shawl is Zelda by Libby at Truly Myrtle.⠀

Day 28: Favourite Thing I’ve Made.  Today’s one is difficult, so I’ve chosen 3 favourite things. First up is Fireflies Rising, a lovely pattern by Helen Stewart at Curious Handmade, made out of Tanami 4ply Camelsilk from Travelknitter.

Next is another great pattern from Helen, this time Pebble Beach with some wonderful yarn from Town End Alpacas.

Finally, I have made many hats designed by Clare Devine at Knit Share Love, but this one that I made for my husband is one of my favourites. The yarn is Flumps Chunky from Ginger Twist Studio and the pattern is Everyday Brew from the Tea Collection.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this Instagram challenge and have made some lovely new friends as a result. I hope you have liked following my yarny adventures too!
