Crochet Fever

Every now and then (OK, quite often) I get slightly bored with the craft I’m doing and want to do something different. I guess it’s one of the joys of being multi-craftual. Also one of the drawbacks – not much gets finished quickly!

When I was at the Ally Pally Knitting and Stitching Show last October with my good knitterly chum, we both fell in love with a blanket crocheted out of Garnstudio DROPS Delight 4-ply (fingering) yarn. The slow colour repeats made each square unique, and the colours were lovely. Chum bought the yarn, I resisted. Fast foward to earlier this year and another crafty friend brought her version of this blanket to Knit Night. She had used jewel-toned colours and joined each square with black (the original used a neutral colour to join the squares). It looked amazing! Like a stained glass window. I just had to make one for myself. And wouldn’t you know it – DROPS have a sale in May… 35% OFF. I know! It would be rude not to, I thought. I might have over-ordered a little, but it should keep me in crochet for years.
